Why Do Radiant Heating Panels Outperform?

More traditional heating sources incorporate the use of forced air heat – air is heated remotely and then transported to various destinations via conduits or ducts. Obviously, much of that energy will be lost during transportation and lost through the doors and windows.
With radiant heat, since air movement is not involved, the objects it meets (including people!) absorb more of the heat – up to 85%. Those heated objects then heat the surrounding air. This results in:
- More balanced temperature distribution, resulting in only a 1 or 2 degree variation between the floor and ceiling versus 5 or 6 degrees or more with forced air
- Less dust particulate movement – reducing reactions such as asthma, allergies, mucous membrane infection, etc.
- Comfortable humidity levels as there is little movement to create condensation, which removes moisture from the air. Lower loss of heat with pressurised air passing through window gaps and leaky walls
- Reduced costs as zero maintenance is required as radiant heating panels have no moving parts
- No drafts, which are created by air moving from high to low pressure areas
